One spring, Eri, a Holstein cow, develops a deep affection for Sawa, a Jersey newcomer. She worships Sawa and yearns to be near her, to merge completely. To purify this overwhelming passion, Eri creates and endures her own harsh spiritual disciplines. In a society that discards those who cannot reproduce, Eri has fallen for another cow condemned to the same destiny.
