A cargo vessel sets out on its last journey of the year to deliver essential supplies to remote Inuit settlements in northern Canada. When a brutal storm hits off the coast of Labrador, the ship’s cook is discovered dead in his quarters. With twenty crew members trapped aboard and no clear culprit, all eyes turn to Alupa—an Inuit mechanic and the victim’s closest confidant. Told in reverse, moving from the inquiry back through the stormy night of the killing, this film goes beyond a classic mystery, exploring raw themes of race, social divides, and hidden lust.
