Minions & Monsters (2026)

Minions & Monsters is a 2026 animated comedy adventure from Illumination and Universal Pictures, directed by Pierre Coffin and co-written by Coffin and Brian Lynch. Set in 1920s Hollywood during the transition from silent movies to talking pictures, the film follows a new group of Minions who unexpectedly become movie stars before losing their fame and setting out to make a monster movie of their own.

The story gives the franchise a playful Hollywood twist, combining slapstick comedy with a love letter to classic cinema. James and Henry become fascinated with filmmaking and, with the help of a magical spellbook, summon real monsters for their production. When the creatures get out of control, the Minions must put aside their differences and save the world they have accidentally endangered.
