Bin U Bin, Elsewhere the Border (2024)

In the rugged borderlands of Algeria’s rocky desert, Fethi and his fellow villagers scrape by under cover of darkness, smuggling goods—mostly petrol—into Tunisia while paying off local crime bosses to stay afloat. Saad, a filmmaker desperate to fund his unfinished movie, has spent a year working alongside Fethi. Living in his family’s shed, he’s both part of a loving household and their perilous trade, yet remains an outsider: sharply dressed and unafraid to challenge anyone, even the imam.
