A summer of splashing comes to a halt when 11-year-old Pola faces two crushing losses: her beloved local pool, Plitsch Platsch, shuts down due to funding shortages, and her best friend Polly moves away with her family, who ran the poolside café. Left on her own, Pola refuses to let the good times sink. She joins forces with Rosalie, a sharp-witted new classmate, and together they launch a petition to rescue the pool. Rallying the neighborhood kids, they turn their small protest into a movement. Along the journey, Pola forges unexpected bonds and realizes that growing up means embracing change—even when it feels like a deep end plunge.
