Twenty years after her childhood friend Noor vanished without a trace, Zahraa returns to her family home in Baghdad, still haunted by the mystery. While retracing the past, she encounters Laila, a 22-year-old woman, at the very shelter where Noor was last seen. As Zahraa digs deeper, she uncovers a painful pattern: countless baby girls are abandoned by their mothers, driven by the brutal realities of gender-based violence. She comes to understand how the war in Iraq deepened patriarchal control, forcing mothers to leave their daughters behind in a culture that refuses to accept them.
