Once a fleeting summer mirage, the island of Bácan in the Venice Lagoon now stands year-round, reshaped by human hands. The massive excavation for the MOSE flood barrier shifted the lagoon’s delicate water balance, transforming this sliver of land into a permanent fixture. Told through the island’s own voice, the film explores its ever-shifting identity and the deep, tangled bond between people, water, and the landscape.
