The Artist Who Disappeared (2026)
Artist Sergei Ivanov and his partner, Tezman Chan, relocate to the remote Scottish island of Papa Westray, where they launch an International Arts Festival that draws a vibrant mix of creators—painters, performers, and musicians—from as far away as Japan and the United States. As the festival enters its seventh year, the couple invites their friend, filmmaker David Kew, to document their extraordinary island life. But just three months into filming, Sergei vanishes without a trace. Compelled to investigate, Kew embarks on a profound journey of discovery and reflection. Through interviews with those left behind—each grappling with the mystery in their own way—the documentary shifts focus to Tezman, who channels her grief into crafting a moving, elegiac tribute to Sergei on the very island that held their dreams.
