Set against the backdrop of the Great Patriotic War, a Siberian trapper named Gavriil Sobinov enlists the moment he learns his son, young Lieutenant Semyon, has gone missing in action. Rising to lead a sniper squad, Gavriil never stops searching for his son. Running parallel is the story of Werner, a German marksman who fights alongside his own son, Dietrich. As the war tightens its grip, these two fathers—one Russian, one German—are drawn toward an unavoidable confrontation, where fate will force them to cross paths.
