Inspired by Zakhar Prilepin's semi-autobiographical novella "The Forest," this film follows a father and son who return each summer to the rural village of Isttsy. Their long-standing tradition of rafting along the Istya River takes a dark turn when a once-lighthearted outing spirals into a full-blown catastrophe. Years later, the now-adult son looks back through the haze of time to piece together the memory of his father.
