In 1948, the Third Field Army handpicks its finest operatives to slip into Nanjing—the Kuomintang’s heart of power—aiming to tip the scales in the Crossing-the-Yangtze Campaign and fortify the fledgling people’s government. Backed fiercely by the CPC’s underground network in Nanjing, they plunge into the enemy fortress, locked in a high-stakes battle of intellect and nerve against the crumbling Kuomintang regime.
