After three decades on the job, veteran private eye Frether Warmak gets pulled into a baffling case: a dog-sitter is discovered dead in her own home, the front door hanging wide open, and every pup in her care has vanished without a trace. Alongside his younger partner Lucas Mancini, he starts questioning potential witnesses—none of whom prove especially trustworthy. Stuck without a single solid lead, Frether reluctantly steps back from the investigation.
