Virtual Reality promises infinite worlds, yet delivers only a confined view inside a rigid sphere. Could the same be said of the European Union’s tightly guarded borders? Crossing into the EU means cameras are forbidden — even Google’s Street View cars must comply, leaving conspicuous blind spots in their imagery around border control posts. From the outside, the Euro dome grows ever more visible and foreboding: towering fences topped with barbed wire, patrolled by armed guards on constant watch. But from within, the borders appear as little more than a virtual ghost — a faint reflection, a delayed echo, a glimpse of a barrier that feels almost unreal.
